🎯 Introduction

Django Content Studio is a modern alternative to the classic Django admin, with batteries included. Register a model and it becomes manageable in the admin: with a list page, search, filters, an edit page with dedicated widgets, inlines, a dashboard and a media library.

What you get

  • Your models, as they are. Like the classic Django admin, Content Studio manages the models you already have. There is nothing to migrate to and no content model to adopt.
  • A complete admin for every registered model. List pages with search, filters and ordering, and edit pages with validation, inlines and audit stamps. Access follows the same permission hooks as the classic Django admin, including per-object checks.
  • Dedicated widgets. Fields are edited with widgets for dates, rich text, tags, media and structured JSON, and edit pages are laid out with form sets and field layouts.
  • A dashboard with statistics, content lists, recent activity and scheduled tasks, declared in Python.
  • A media library with folders, uploads and image crops, on the media model you choose.
  • Multi-tenancy: one hook decides which tenants an editor may work in, and every page is scoped to the selected tenant.
  • Batteries included. Optional fields such as HTMLField, TagField and FlexField, and base models such as ContentModel and SingletonModel, for content-driven projects.

What it is not

Content Studio does not render your website. It manages content, the way the classic Django admin does. The built-in fields and models are optional: everything also works with plain Django models and fields.

Requirements

  • Python 3.12 or later
  • Django 5.2, 6.0 or 6.1
